Communion
This is a body of 10 paintings, exhibited as a solo show in 2018, depicting an imagined recording of a community that was significant within Elizabethan society, but rarely chronicled through the portraiture of the time. Within this classically executed and historic setting I also explore a number of contemporary themes around masculinity, power, gender and social stereotyping. All works are available as giclée prints.
Collage
I have recently discovered the versatility and range of collage. This has allowed me to explore a looser, more experimental handling of certain themes such as degraded, abandoned spaces and the liminal threshold between exteriors and interiors, the abstract and the literal. These are worked on paper using oils and collage
